Leanne Marshall - Fall 2014

Project Runway Season 5 Champion, Leanne Marshall, presented her Fall 2014 Collection on Sunday, February 9th and BPR Field Reporter, Jennifer Mara sends us this report.  Thanks Jen!

Leanne Marshall showed Sunday at the Helen Mills event space in Manhattan. If you ask me she has graduated beyond this small space that barely fit her MANY supporters. 

It was a very melodic show with hues of baby pink and grey but with all of the classic "Marshall touches" ...yes petals were present!   There was wedding wear along with some fun and whimsical outfits. 

We did see some of our favorite people...Suede! (an avid Leanne supporter) He told me he is in over four thousand stores now!  The jacket he is wearing is one of his designs.

Project Runway All-Star Designer, Suede, at Vogue Knitting Live Event

Project Runway All-Star designer,  Suede, will be participating in Vogue Knitting Magazine’s premiere chic and unique event January 17-19, Vogue Knitting LIVE. 

Celebrating the addition of yarn to his successful repertoire of fabric and pattern design, he’ll be demonstrating how to use the new unique yarn he has designed that’s made out of fabric for creating fun, edgy garments. 

He will also be speaking on the “Men at Work Panel,” about how he has brought his creative work into a female-dominated field and how he turned his passion into his career. The panel is on Sunday January 19th from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in the Astor Ballroom.

"Quirky, valuable and high-quality."

 Those were the words buzzing through Kent State University’s fashion school as Project Runway all-star designer and Kent alumnus Suede debuted his SUEDEsays fabric collection Saturday, Feb. 2. 

The event flashed flirty, edgy and classic variations of Suede’s 24 unique fabrics, and special showtimes were added to accommodate its growing audience. Relaxed, flowing hemlines, sophisticated peplum tops and surprising colored sheers were among the designs that decorated Suede’s technicolor stage, an installation designed by the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores now
selling his collection.

SUEDEsays™ Launch Event Feb 1 - 2

Project Runway All-Star designer, Suede, is launching a new collection of fabrics and patterns.  

The launch event is this weekend and includes a personal appearance at the Jo-Ann Fabrics store located at 5381 Darrow Rd, Hudson OH 44236-4007 on Friday night from 5:30 - 7:30.

On Saturday, Suede will be presenting a Fashion Show at Kent State University.

BPR Interview with Suede

Project Runway All Star designer, Suede, talks about his experience on the show.

A highlight:

BPR:  Have you watched all of the previous seasons?

S:  I have to say I did.

BPR:  So you recognized everyone?

S:  There was not a single face that I was not familiar with.

BPR:  Did you watch the episode last night?

S:  I caught it this morning.  I wasn't able to watch last night because we are still having issues from the storm.  

BPR:  Suede, was your home affected by the storm?

S:  I was actually in the city when it hit.  I was supposed to have some business meetings the next day.  Those were obviously postponed.  We lost power here in Chelsea - that was for a few days.  Then I finally escaped to my home in the mountains.   Thankfully there was no damage.  My kitties were a little bit cold, so we snuggled in front of the fireplace until the power returned.   My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by the storm.
